LORENZO LAMAS CYCLES & PEGRAM RACING OFF TO THE RACES WITH SIGNATURE SUPERBIKE PROGRAM
Lorenzo Lamas Cycles and Foremost Insurance/Pegram Racing Ducati today announced that they’ve begun taking orders for a custom Lorenzo-Pegram Signature Ducati 1198, following a private kickoff event hosted by Beverly Hills Ducati last week.
According to motorsports enthusiast and founder of Lorenzo Cycles, Lorenzo Lamas, “The excitement around Larry and his program is well deserved. This is a guy that not only owns the team, he’s out there riding and working hard to make things happen for himself. You’ve got to admire a guy like that and we’ll support Larry’s pursuit of his first AMA Superbike Championship title in any way we can.”
In addition to serving as a showcase for its primary sponsors including Foremost Insurance Group, Patron Spirits Company and Jaeger-LeCoultre, the event marked the official unveiling of the partnership’s Lorenzo-Pegram Signature Ducati 1198.
Billed by Larry Pegram as “the closest to the track experience as you can get”, the custom Ducati retails at a price of $29,000 and features performance enhancing products including a a Titanium full exhaust by Akropovic Racing, adjustable angle bars with ball bearing throttle by Kyle Racing, rear sets, 2mm thick engine covers and ultralight dry carbon fairing stay by Sato and BST Carbon Wheels. In 2009, after winning three AMA superbike races, the team finished fourth in the final point standings. With great support from Ducati North America and Foremost Insurance, the team developed a strong foundation built around Ducati’s flagship Superbike, the 1098 R.
For 2010, with even stronger support from title sponsor Foremost Insurance, team owner Larry Pegram will be at the controls of the Ducati superbike in an effort to win the American Superbike Championship.
“I am really looking forward to the start of the season”, explains Pegram. “Last year we received Factory support from Ducati North America and that was a great launch pad. This year will be even better. I am fortunate to have solid backing and a great team. In our first season with the Ducati 1098 R the bike never missed a beat. I am very confident with my team and equipment and every time I ride the bike I get faster on it so we are going to make a big push to win the championship this year”.
